Jensen VM9311TS 7 Inch LCD touch screen - Ipod Connection Issue?

My friend has a Jensen VM9311TS 7 inch motorized LCD touch screen deck for his truck, and earlier I had been changing songs quite rapidly on it, when it decided to start jumping all over the menus and then refused to play any sound via the iPod connection, it preferred to just start playing the songs over and over and over again, with no sound, the timer just kept restarting, so we were testing it and the radio works just fine and the speaker works just fine, its only the ipod connection that refuses to play sound, upon leaving it for an hour or so, when he restarted his truck the song counter was at 10 hours and then it jumped to zero, then started rapidly climbing from 0 minutes to 10 minutes to 20 and so forth till it reached 100 minutes, then it restarted back at zero... so basically I need to know why it refuses to play any sound from the ipod.. thanks
