This guy became shy in front of me after confessing to him that I got a crush on him. Is it normal for a guy?

This makes me sad. Just wondering why does he have to be shy when in fact I should be the one to act shy because I'm the one who confessed. :((((( I don't want this to happen. We've been a very good friends. :/ Why do you think he have to be that way? Please tell me honestly.
