Am I a dork for riding a motorized bicycle?

I'm 18 and all I have is my parents car, but I burn a lot of their gas driving around a minivan for only myself, and I don't have enough money for my own car. I have a motorized bicycle I recently got, and it's basically one of those old style mopeds, but its built on a brand new bike and brand new kit. Goes like 35 and doesn't look half bad. Am I dorky for riding this? I just thought it was a pretty practical idea. I'm just wondering if people will think I'm stupid. Thanks.
